Terrible or Terrific Twos on the Thursday NO PO Open Thread
There are things where having two is better than having one ( oreos...lol) but having two heads is probably not better than one ( the arguing with yourself alone...lol)...there are the terrible twos of toddlers, imagine have 2, 3 or 4, or 5 toddlers at once? ( those poor parents). So, what are some examples of one is better or two is better that come to your mind.

There's an expression, or two ..
' asking for trouble ' ( I have never actually heard of anyone doing that ) and the other ' doubling down '.
There's a sect of Mormonism even in the United States today who believe in polygamy also some Muslim societies in the world . Are 2 better than one? Or doubling down asking for trouble? Polygamy - maybe not such a good idea.
Let's be fair about this and consider women's rights . It means ladies there's two husbands for you

you are describing the difference between polygamy (one man multiple wives) and polyamory (multiple l love). The way I see such things is that what ever works for everyone involved is the right way.

Ha, no way I am sharing ( and I imagine the subtle fights about who is the favored happens quite a bit, or who is better, I don't know how they handle the underlying competition women have all the time)...and...one man is enough to deal with, let alone two...lolSlip Shod wrote: βThu Sep 23, 2021 10:21 amThere's an expression, or two ..

You've got that wrong. "Polygamy" means "many mates," (from "poly"="many" and "gamete"="breeding partner.") and can mean everything from one man with multiple wives to one woman with multiple husbands and anything in between. Two wives with five husbands, for instance. And yeah, that's a thing. It's called simply group marriage, and is not common.GuideToACrazyWorld wrote: βThu Sep 23, 2021 3:29 pm

"Polyamory" you have closer. It simply means loving more than one person. A woman in a relationship with two husbands is polyamorous, but so is a man with two wives. Many men who are serial bigamists say they love all their wives. They are also polyamorous. The wives, probably not so much. In polyamory we are talking love in the sense of eros, not agape or philia. Many people use the term "polyamorous" to describe their sexual behavior, having many partners without committing to any of them. Usually in a bisexual sense.

Some people say pedant others say helpful. I'm the latter. When I'm wrong I appreciate polite correction.

Just because I'm being helpful doesn't mean I'm not being pedantic.GuideToACrazyWorld wrote: βFri Sep 24, 2021 5:14 pmSome people say pedant others say helpful. I'm the latter. When I'm wrong I appreciate polite correction.
But then again, I look at myself as a teacher. Like Buddha.
