I hate gossipers with the heat of a red hot sun. Way back in Jr High I saw it for what it was. It is most often, in my experience, a female (and some gay men) thing. It is almost always an exercise in gloating and reveling in someone's misfortune or bad behavior. And the intent for even telling people is to hope they enjoy it the same way you do. Just pure malice. And a woman telling a woman about women is the worst. this is not surprising considering the unspoken and often annoying competition between women who all want to be the woman in the room whom all the guys gravitate t, And see other women as competition for that attention, I refused to participate then and I still do. Not to mention it is often rumor with no reliable proof to begin with, so spreading falsehoods, which as you all know if a major pet peeve of mine.

(I watched far too much Hee-Haw as a kid. Not by choice mind you, but both my Grandfather's loved that show.)

Gossip does not bother me for the most part. I do not participate in it, so it does not color my judgment of others - and if folks leave me out of their lives because they subscribed to some false gossip about me, then they are the kind of folks I really did not want in my life in the first place. Unfortunately someone in my family is a gossip, and it has destroyed some relationships that I would rather not have lost.

I go out of my way to ignore and not participate it gossip. Frankly, I don't know enough about some antiquates life to form opinions on gossip worthy behavior.

I don’t waste my time listening to gossip and I don’t normally spread it
Except a year or so ago. My neighbors husband came out of the house with an infant car seat. Then he threw a little pink blanket in it. They have three boys already
I lost my mind at that point. And texted my sister. “ Heather had a little girl!”
I was watching from the van. ( I was in a zoom meeting). I felt like Gladys Kravitz from “ Bewitched “
