That isn't "miss-managing" SS...it's how it was designed to work. The money has been borrowed, just as other countries borrow from us, for example. That's why our credit rating is so important, because it's so good we're a good investment.

I see Manchin is opposed to the “ green energy” support in the new bill. No surprise there. Big coal puts money in his pocket.

B/S double talk - to date the government has borrowed 2 trillion out of Social Security to pay for other programs. But it's okay because we got their promise with an I owe you.
Should always have remained separate and untouchable, not placed into the general fund. Thank you Johnson Administration . The Fast Shuffle, it's all about accounting. No limit to the little guy getting the big screw

Well, I'm a "little guy" and I've been getting my SS regularly...so it can't be THAT mismanaged. Any mismanagement will come if/when the GOP decides it's a "good idea" to let the country's loan rating tank because they refuse to let the debt ceiling be raised. Now, if you want to talk mismanagement...the "debt limit" is unconstitutional and SOMEONE should take THAT case to court.

Your an admitted 'little guy', ok, I'll take your word on that. And if an old fart, nothing to worry about. You'll be gone by 2034 . They've been playing Kick the Can - take your rest, kids and grandkids.. we'll pass the shity baton on to them

As always, the fault is not in Congress. How is a politician to survive when he says “I have a plan to make SS viable”, and he gets primaried because his opponent shrieks “they’re coming to destroy your Social Security!!”

No… the fault lies with the idiocy that comprises the American electorate.

I think Mike has hit on a valid point right there. And the other big one is term limits. Republican Right-wing nuts and those sleazy Democratic socialists both share a bed with lobbyists. Who knows what all goes on in the swamp bedroom

Sorry - I forgot again, got to keep reminding myself it's so easy to go Negative.
