Fellow Fans of Forthcoming Festivities(?) on the Friday NO PO Open Thread
As everyone knows, I love all holidays pretty much, but, though Thanksgiving is coming first and I enjoy it too, my very favorite, Christmas is coming, and I start getting excited now, and start looking for craft shows, and start shopping ( in normal years I shop all year, from the day after Christmas...)so, because I have had way toned down Christmases the last two years, I am really looking forward to this year. I know that not everyone loves it the way I do, but, are you even a little bit excited?...lol...I am pumped...

A caveat : To be understood, there are exceptions to everything
Can I hear an amen from the ladies?
I'd say it's the women who prepare Thanksgiving Day dinner, the mothers and wives and it's a really big deal the time and preparation that can go into pulling it off. So I propose the guys and young fellas of the family, instead of grabbing a couch and turning on the football game afterwards let the ladies get together and relax in the front room and the guys clean up the table and dishes and clean up afterwards. Show them we appreciate them. Can I hear an amen from the ladies?

All this early xmas stuff burns me out. I wish we'd go back to the start of the xmas season being the day after thanksgiving. I just get tired.

I'm the one who has cooked all but about 4 of our Thanksgiving dinners in our 42 years of marriage.Slip Shod wrote: โFri Nov 05, 2021 12:41 pmA caveat : To be understood, there are exceptions to everything

I agree it is usually the women who do all that work, and in large portions of my life, I did...but I am spoiled now, Rick and I share the cooking and he does most of the clean up...Slip Shod wrote: โFri Nov 05, 2021 12:41 pmA caveat : To be understood, there are exceptions to everything
