Pies...yum...like em? Have a favorite?

Post by Z is for Zangie » Wed May 11, 2022 2:39 am

Dutch Apple is my favorite, I also like cherry and blueberry and chocolate cream...that is the only cream pie I really like...lemon meringue is ok, and pumpkin can be good ..as I only recently discovered the wonders of pecans, I should probably try a pecan pie, it was my ex-husbands favorite, but, I never tried it and I might like it...ever a fan of like sweet potatoes ( Rick's favorite)rhubarb etc.

A good chocolate pie is always welcome, but my favorite is a pasty pie. Beef and potatoes and onions. Technically to be a "pasty" it should be a half-crust popover, not a pie, but we've always made it as an actual two crust pie in a tin. Nomnomnom.

Reading your intro Z, I don't know why but I got hit with mince or mince-meat pie. I believe I've had it sometime past maybe when I was young so I googled it and it turns out it's a mixture of fruits and there's all kinds of ways to make it all over the world, some parts of the Middle East mixed various fruits and meat . Don't believe I've ever seen it in a Kroger's

Oh me oh my, I like pie. (from some movie)

I really don’t like most pies. I’d far rather have the fresh fruit. But as pies go, a good apple pie can be enjoyable. And sweet potato pecan pie tends to get made in my home around the holidays, and that too is enjoyable. But that’s about it. And when I go out to dinner I rarely order dessert to begin with…. and I cannot remember ever ordering pie in those rare moments when I do.
