And history repeats yet again. Cryptocurrencies, which came into being mostly in an attempt to evade the taxman and regulation, are about to become highly regulated. And the older, more established ones are actually SEEKING and welcoming such regulation! The 100% wipeout of ‘stablecoin’ TerraUSD, combined with the wild swings (and large losses) in the general crypto market of late, has spooked investors. And as we all know, investors - who claim (my hyperbole, but not by much) “we are the risk takers who create wealth and provide jobs” - do not truly take risks as much as they claim. They looooove emerging markets where they can drop in some cash, do nothing, and emerge a few months later millions of dollars richer.

But they don’t love it when the same situation sees them losing millions.
And that is when they start calling for regulation.

And this has been the case in so very many industries. Despite the rightwing rhetoric, you see, most regulation does not come from a left that is seeking to destroy the world economic system. Safety regulations come from a left (virtually never from the right, why is that?) that is concerned for the well-being of all concerned. But the larger regulatory sphere comes from capitalists seeking to preserve what they have accumulated. And that, exactly, is what is occurring with crypto right now. The very same investors utilizing crypto to pyramid themselves into the stratosphere and avoid paying taxes in the process are now beseeching the government, the same government to which they refuse to pay taxes, to utilize its resources to prevent their precious investment from losing money.

They don’t give a damn about society, about other people. Only about their own money.

@mike. - always your rant against our western style of democracy/capitalism. The problem is the ultra rich and powerful who dominate and do all the political systems in the world. The control of the world's banking systems weather under our system of government or the socialist system, whatever. The problem is the very few not the systems of government. Exactly like that George Carlin video I posted. They are global internationalists. They are the 'owners'. It's no conspiracy theory it's a fact. You and I are actually on the same side of things. We're both screwed - and that new world order thing ? that is the end game. Governments are owned, media is owned and you and I and everyone else. It's a train wreck and surreal

Btw, here’s the system you continue to defend - with its relentless conversion of poor people’s lunch money to rich people’s yacht money:

@ M.
There's a elephant (NWO) in the room & and you keep talking about the furniture.
Regardless of party Biden and Bush talking about it
You've been thinking about it and since I can see into the future within this next coming year you will be all on board, gung-ho globalist if you're not one secretly already. And I know several of your arguments already .. one of them being safety and security no matter the cost, it's worth it whatever

You’d be wrong about that assumption of yours. Why do you imagine it bothers me that these investors are clamoring for regulation? THEY are the ones seeking safety and security - and are willing to risk the well-being, livelihoods, and even the lives of others in order to obtain that. You know, mine owners skimping on worker safety in order to grab more profit. Or insufficiently storing their effluent, and it pollutes the local watershed. Stuff like that.

“Gung-ho globalist”?? NWO? Seems to me, we are much further along to that end with all the dictators and wannabes, Putin, Kim, trump etc, all admiring each other and supporting each other.

Just like AI, China Russia, the West they're all jocking for position. Push come to shove there will probably be a major war - 'out of chaos comes order'. Following a script. That one's from your boy

Here’s the state of Christianity in the USA in 2022. From 0:40:

Can’t you just feel the love of Jesus in this preacher? ROFL

I don't care who you vote for - your choice. We are not living in a theocracy, although I believe the far left is believing in fairy tales

Way to go again Mike. You've managed to pick out a single individual and broad brush hundreds of thousands of people with a single stroke, fantastic. I can pick out Kim jong-un (brutal dictator, torturer, psychopath) and say this man right here, Kim jong un this is communism today. You're amazing.

That preacher has a huge TV audience, and nearly two million likes on Facebook. He is no small player. Let’s put it this way: a couple years ago, deniers like you were claiming Greene and Boebert were at the extreme fringe. Today? Today, Republican party members are tripping over each other in their rush to be more extreme than those two. Because that’s the only they can hope to win a primary in your party anymore.

No, Greg Locke is not extreme in your party anymore. Preachers across the nation echo his message. Republicans across the nation echo his message.

@mike
And your point ? Do you feel their position (preachers) should be censored, muzzled & unable to speak.
So you'd be the judge & jury - their freedom to speak their mind definitely requires silencing, we can't have people speaking their minds on any subject.
Hey mike, change the channel you don't have to listen to him
- same as Twitter and Facebook if you don't like what's being said, damn dummy, don't entertain it and take your sensitivities somewheres else
