Have a good day. Maybe step away from politics for a bit. I think we all could use a break.

This tragedy finds Abbott, along with many on the Right, again squawking about how the real issue - aside from unarmed teachers, unarmed administrators, unarmed bus drivers etc - is “mental health”. To which I have these items in retort:
1. A uniform symptom among virtually all these young shooters has been that they were routinely bullied.
2. Abbott has, during his time in office, pared down mental health programs… preferring to instead direct the funds to weaponizing the Rio Grande.

So then. Mental health? When one of your main policy points as a party is the elimination of as much public health funding as possible, in what context is your party raising the mental health issue where shooters are concerned? When your party routinely elects bullies such as trump to office, in what context are you discussing the well-being of these shooters before the fact, in order to prevent such shootings?

Answers? There is no such context in your party. If such context existed, y’all would not have so savagely maligned Hillary when she said “it takes a village”. What is abundantly clear is that the equation looks like this to the Right:

The solution to mental health issues is more guns.

Else they would not raise the issue of “mental health” while simultaneously seeking to eliminate funding for mental health services.

Here’s another thought: Genesis 22:1. God demands Abraham take his only son, Isaac, to the land of Moriah…. and kill that son and offer him as a burnt offering.

Question: how, in the context of Judeo-Christianity, do we know this shooter was not following God’s will - and offering this classroom as a sacrifice? Could it not be stated that every occurrence that ever occurs, no matter how abhorrent we might consider it, is actually the will of god? It god is omnipotent and omnipresent and omniscient, it would not be possible to commit an act that goes against his will. Every murder, every rape, every abortion, every beating, every war.,,, the Holocaust could not have occurred against his will. The invasion of Ukraine, along with the resistance to that invasion…. both are the will of god.

If god exists, it cannot be otherwise.

Biden is in Texas right now. People are saying his security detail for this trip is twice the size of that when he visited Poland

I think it is Mental Health Mike, so many Republicans and NRA members are psychopaths. How can you see this happening over and over again and not want to change things for the good of America?
Are we willing to keep watering the” tree of liberty” with the blood of children?
Republicans know that their children are safe in their private schools, that their white main line Christian(?) church will never be a target. They attend private concerts and theatrical performances and I doubt they shop for their own groceries They don’t have to care about gun violence because they know there will most likely have to deal with it on a personal level

Oy. Return to Buffalo. The shooter communicated what he was about to do to a hate group with which he associated online. He did this 30 minutes before the start of his racist murder spree.

None of the online group reached out to anyone to warn them.
A former Federal law enforcement officer is a member of that online group.

IMO if they read the message at that time, they are accomplices. They should be prosecuted as accessories to mass murder.
At the very least, the pension of the former officer should be revoked - and his name made public. There’s no way that silence should go unpunished.
