I had no idea this ever happened, and I've been through the San Juan Islands before. It should be a taught part of our history! I just found out about it the other day.



So not only did Washington State (it was part of the Oregon Territory at the time) nearly start a war with England, one of the idiots in charge was a big factor in the runners-up losing at Gettysburg.

I am less worried about the current state of our republic now than I was last Thursday. The Jan.6 committee is obtaining testimony that has already made it impossible to reach a conclusion other than trump was fully cognizant of, and a leader of and participant in, a plot to overthrow the 2020 election - and therefore, a plot to overthrow the legitimate government of the United States.

There will be time in the future to worry about the future. For now, I’m content to see reality come to light.
