Happy Father's Day! ( NO PO)

Post by Z is for Zangie » Sun Jun 19, 2022 2:03 am

For anyone who is one ( which I think are only two of our regulars...lol.).have a nice one. For anyone, if you would like to talk about your own dad, that would be cool too.

I miss my dad a lot. He was a pretty awesome dad ( though far from perfect). He taught me a lot and has a lot to do with who I am as a person, and he buffeted the toxicity of my mom for me. That he chose to adopt me when he married my mom, makes it even better, because he had this way of making me feel like a favorite at times, (as he probably did with all of us). He was a smart, funny guy and a great hugger. And he told me he loved me often. I was lucky/blessed.

Miss you dad.

Today is also: NATIONAL FREEBSD DAY – NATIONAL WATCH DAY – NATIONAL GARFIELD THE CAT DAY – NATIONAL TURKEY LOVERS DAY AND TECHNICALLY, TODAY, THE 19TH IS JUNETEENTH, THOUGH THE FEDERAL HOLIDAY IS TOMORROW.

I had to look up BSD because I had no idea what it was...

:D Always loved Garfield, so did my grandmother, even more than I did, and I bought her a lot of Garfield stuff some of which I got back when she died. I have one that is a Bingo charm that I use whenever I play Bingo in memory.

One of the greatest things ever created: Garfield Minus Garfield. Wherein a guy removes all trace of Garfield from the Garfield comic leaving just Jon in a series of existential crises.

Click the link. There are about 400 of them online. (Some are better than others, of course.) There's also an actual physical book of them you can buy.

Sitting right now on the porch with my phone & my coffee, picked up the cup to take a sip and there was a jumping spider in my cup swimming - I didn't know jumping spiders liked coffee. The joys of a back deck
