When I was in (I believe) 2nd Grade my teacher brought in a bunch of old greetings cards and some lumber ends. She had us cut out our favorite picture from the greeting cards and into the size of one of the blocks. Then we glued it on and sealed it on with wax.

My Mom still has hers, hanging above her kitchenette sink.

I only vaguely remember it, but as I recall there weren't many choices. Greeting cards being what they were in the 70's.
