( Wednesday NO PO) Today is: National Beer Day, National neither Rain nor Snow Day, National Salami Day

Post by Z is for Zangie » Wed Sep 07, 2022 2:34 am

Not a beer fan, but it was one of the better options, always thought it was too bitter, though I drank it when I was 18 and they had those two kinds of beers, 3.5% and 8% I think..though my grandmother always told me both were higher than actuality...lol...as a bar owner I guess she would know. I love fall, but not crazy about the rain, we went from summer to early fall...lol..it has been rainy and chilly for several days now...usually, it is more like summer this time of year...And I love salami, specifically premium hard salami, I often eat it plain, with no bread or anything as a snack.

It reached 114 today. I could use some rain or snow.

Yikes, we had some record-breaking heat this past summer, but, I think the highest it got was upper 90's...we have rarely gone over 100, though it has happened once in a while.

It was 90° here yesterday, but only supposed to get up to 80° today and tomorrow. 80° isn't unheard of here in September, but it's not the rule. Then it's supposed to get back up into the 90°s through the weekend.

Northern and central California are starting to sound like Texas - hot, hot hot and dry, dry, dry.

We have a week of no rain for a change and temps in low 90's some days and upper 80s predicted for other days. The recent rains and lower temperatures will cause a really good fall growing season.
It has already started.
All the rain is really welcome after a particularly hot dr summer. We got 100 degree temps in early March this year right up to last week. I was unusually dry for the first 8 months of this year and the last 5 months of last year.
After a week of sunshine and mild temperatures, forecasts have us moving back into a rainy period for 5 consecutive days.
If we get some measurable rain for even 2 or 3 of those days, it will be like icing on a cake for us.

We used to have flooding too. Now it just burns.

Man, I'm from the Pacific Northwet. Anything over 70° is considered "hot."

I do love the weather up there. My wife would move to Washington in a blink if I asked. There are even a responsible number of IT Jobs, more then responsible if you are near Tacoma/Seattle. The problem for me is I want my parents and sister in my son's life regularly. Moving up there would hinder that goal. Otherwise I'd be considering it, right along side Raleigh.

I don't make the rules, man. I just complain when I don't like the conditions.

I have declined promotions and raises that required moving, moving that was not in the best interests of my wife and daughters.
Got other raises and promotions where I was soon afterward. Everything worked out.
Keeping my kids near grandparents proved futile, as they kept moving in retirement.

\My dad regularly sites our son as the thing that ruined his plans to move in retirement.
