( Thursday NO PO) Today is National Popcorn Day and World Quark Day
I love Popcorn, especially with lots of butter, I also love caramel popcorn, and cheese popcorn and Gordon Foods sells this awesome cherry popcorn. Quark as in this explanation ( never heard of it before), the only Quark I know is from Deep Space Nine and it is the name of one of them, are they atoms? Shoot....strange etc...seems not something I would like as I'm not too fond of the originals of this stuff...lol
WORLD QUARK DAY
On January 19th, World Quark Day officially celebrates quark and its many benefits. Quark is a European superfood staking its claim on supermarket shelves worldwide. Quark is a delicious high-protein, low-fat alternative to soft cheese and yogurt that can be used for baking, cooking, and blending.
#WorldQuarkDay
There are no limits when using quark. If the menu calls for sweet or savory, hot or cold, quark cheese works well in place of almost any dairy. For example, replace cream cheese or sour cream with quark. By substituting with quark, enter the world of healthy, low-carb, low-fat culinary delights. Use quark in smoothies, cheesecakes, dips, and spreads. Quark’s versatility might surprise you.
Learn about quark’s many possibilities as a home remedy and beauty product, too. Millions of Europeans have benefited from using quark for centuries.
It sounds gross to me and anything low-fat tastes awful...lol

Re: ( Thursday NO PO) Today is National Popcorn Day and World Quark Day
I've never used Quark, but I'm open to the possibility. I think the claims of "superfood" and such are nonsense, and as for "low-fat" I suspect it is low fat in the same way that Neufchâtel is low-fat cream cheese: Yeah, what you get in the United States is lower fat than cream cheese, but it isn't "low fat." Real European Neufchâtel is a different cheese altogether with a similar texture. It can be found in the US, but not at your average grocery.
That said, since it's so popular in Germany and many other European countries I suspect Quark is delicious. It probably would make a great cheesecake.

My guess is it has simular value to other fermented foods. Still, I enjoy fermented food and would try it. I've never seen it on the self.

I've only ever seen it in specialty shops.

RIP David Crosby. This one hurts. I'm a huge CSN fan. The saddest part is by the end the only ex band mate who would speak to David was Stephen Stills. Graham Nash (former best friend) refused to even discuss him. The man lived hard. I hope he's found peace now.

Making it to 81 on a transplanted liver is an accomplishment. An accomplishment I don't plan to emulate.

It's also a running gag on the British TV show The IT Crowd.Z is for Zangie wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 1:57 pmROFLMAO. the first thing that every computer tech tells me when I have an issue, like I didn't already try that...lolTarmaque wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 4:42 amHave you tried turning it on and off again?GuideToACrazyWorld wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 4:19 amIf you see the admin for this site make sure to give him a hard time.

It's a running gag at literally every place that techs take phone calls and anyone who deals with them And you guys have no idea how hard it is for me not to explain why we all do it.

I assume it is because you get a lot of clueless, not very computer-literate people, who do need to be told. I get that, but, as someone with above-average computer knowledge who only calls when it is above my pay grade...it annoys me...lol...I don't even call till I do all the regular, common stuff..I usually start out just telling them what I already did and we can go from there...lol..then I am often told I have a problem no one has ever heard of too...lolGuideToACrazyWorld wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 3:38 amIt's a running gag at literally every place that techs take phone calls and anyone who deals with them And you guys have no idea how hard it is for me not to explain why we all do it.

The problem with said method is some programs are so chock full of options (I'm looking at you GIMP) some of which are not in logical places (Again, GIMP, but also LibreWriter) that you can spend hours trying to figure something simple out. And don't even get me started on Blender.
