One of Those Days

Post by Slip Shod » Sat Jun 27, 2020 11:30 pm

Riding the last late night bus home;
beat from the 2nd job I'd taken on; humiliated working for my
ex's new husband;
hungry because I hadn't eaten and had forgotten my lunch..
she got on right behind me -
I thought unwashed and homeless.
Picking a seat by a window
in the rear of the bus, I sat down
And she followed,
walking through the empty bus
stopping and smiled asking
"Is this seat taken?"
I was traumatized.
It wasn't the hoary unshaven legs
nor was it the toothless drooling smile.
My mind went blank; I'd lost it
and for a moment I couldn't see.
It was the chin whiskers and she wore them proudly.
Not wanting to be unkind I said
"Saving it for you"
Thinking, 'Well why not?
In a little bit I'll be home.
It's been a rough day'..
So she sat down and farted
