( Thursday NO PO) Weak Day for topics...so....
Temptations, what are yours and the hardest to resist? What do you do to be able to resist? I have many...some food things, though those are getting easier to resist, ( though I don't cut them out, I just eat less and less often)Suzin L's chocolate, Disney, Carebear, Muppet, Barbie, etc collectibles are always hard, but at Christmas time moreso, and Christmas Shopping I am already excited about that...and it is going to be a smaller Christmas this year...

You like bears, teddy bears and things like that, well I have a friend and she's probably 10x more into it than you are and though I like her and understand that's her thing it's unnatural, way way overboard. It's to the point where I don't want to go over there and visit. You can't go anywhere in her house without bumping into a bear or knocking it over - drives me crazy

I've been reading up lately about CBD health benefits and so I ordered some, we'll see. I went with the gummies, CBD gummies full spectrum. There's broad spectrum and then there's a full spectrum. Both guarantee a good night's sleep and claim a host of other benefits that they're really looking into and studying

Chocolate is one. And cinnamon rolls. Meat pies. Peanut Butter Cups. Cheesecake. Roast beef.
Funny how they're all foodstuffs.

Well, meat pies because of the crust. It's amazing what a bunch of white flour will do. I'm allowed roast beef, but who eats roast beef without potatoes soaked in the drippings?

The good news is I have managed to get my blood sugar down to where my doctor is happy with it. The bad news is I did it by cutting out everything I eat that makes me happy.
Everything.
I'm Jonesing for a peanut butter cup or Hershey's kiss so hard right now.

One shouldn't have to give up everything, or at least allow it in moderation...I feel the same about chocolate and peanut butter and don't think I could or would totally give them up....do you take the medication that also helps people lose weight ..Ozempic? They approved the Wegovny for weight loss apparently, but, it will be a while before I can get it...Z is for Zangie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:36 pmTarmaque wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:00 amThe good news is I have managed to get my blood sugar down to where my doctor is happy with it. Yeah, "moderation" is relative. It's amazing how little causes my blood sugar to spike and stay there for all day or more. I had two Reeses Minis the other day because my sugar was low. It spiked my blood sugar over 200 until the next day. Crazy. I talked to my doctor about Ozempic and Wegovny (same drug, different manufactures and formulations) and was told bluntly, "No." Probably more to do with it's Kaiser Permanente than because it's inappropriate for me. Too expensive for an HMO.Z is for Zangie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:39 pmOne shouldn't have to give up everything, or at least allow it in moderation...I feel the same about chocolate and peanut butter and don't think I could or would totally give them up....do you take the medication that also helps people lose weight ..Ozempic? That said, I talked to a new doctor on Wednesday who was manning the telephone for my appointment with the pharmacy. (Kaiser pharmacists are on strike) Nice guy. He was really happy with my progress over the last month or so, and thinks I'll be fine if I can keep to this diet on the meds I'm already on. For the last three weeks my blood sugar was right on target.
I did get the job, but I'm not working yet. Training is set to start on October 30th. So I sort-of start a week from Monday. I'm not sure if they pay for training or not, but probably half wages. That said, I won't need a lot of training because I already have the licenses and endorsements and stuff. Just company training.
